Q&A w/Melissa
What are your favorite

...TV shows?
Fringe, Futurama, Red Dwarf, Buffy, Firefly, Dollhouse, House, Project Runway, Star Trek: TNG/DS9/Voyager, M*A*S*H, Ren and Stimpy, Ace of Cakes, Good Eats, Oblongs, Black Adder

...movies
Anything directed by Terry Gilliam, the Coen brothers, Kevin Smith, Mel Brooks and Alfred Hitchcock. I hold all sci-fi/fantasy movies near and dear to my heart (LOTR, Blade Runner, Excalibur, Harry Potter, Labyrinth, Pirates of the Carribbean, Princess Bride, Clash of the Titans, Star Trek, Star Wars, X-Men, Dune, Baron Munchausen, etc). And then there's my obsession with horror movies like the Evil Dead trilogy, Dead Snow, The Omen I-III, 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead (the original is SO much better. I love me some shuffling hippie zombies walking into walls). And of course the Monty Python films go without saying. Especially Life of Brian.

Newer movies I really dig: Dark Knight, Hellboy II. Just saw Zombieland.

...favorite music/ musicians?
Tilly and the Wall, The New Pornographers, Talking Heads, World Inferno Friendship Society, Nora O'Connor, Queen, Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Patty Larkin, David Bowie, Neutral Milk Hotel, Rufus Wainwright, Bjork, Andrew Bird

Really good broadway musicals are my thing. I will always love the ones I grew up on like West Side Story, The Sound of Music and Little Shop of Horrors. I love all things Sondheim as well. Now I'm more into newer stuff: The Light in the Piazza, Spring Awakening, Sweeney Todd (John Doyle's revival version), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Avenue Q, The Last Five Years, Cabaret (Sam Mendes version), Urinetown, Chicago, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Rent. I'm a freak and could probably sing any songs from any of those shows at the drop of a hat.

...books?
Sadly, I don't read much lately other than physical therapy journals and knitting books.
Barbara Kingsolver and Neil Gaiman novels rock my socks.
Also greek mythology and fairy tales.

...plays?
A Normal Heart, Metamorphoses, The Pillowman, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind

Who are your favorite performers?
Julie Andrews. <3
Natasha Richardson, Idina Menzel, Jack Terricloth, Alan Cumming.

Other people I admire:
My family is full of the most amazing people on the planet. I love them all so much.

Likes...
sideburns, hot tea, weird shoes, knitting

Dislikes...
bad drivers, being broke, drama.

A little bit about me...
Shy girl from Racine, WIsconsin. Danced at Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, met peeps from MM and joined cast.

Now I live here and married the Chris. Life is good.

I'm a full time Physical Therapist Assistant (for almost 8 years now) and will maybe grow some balls and get onstage again.

What is the craziest / stupidest thing you've ever done?
besides getting onstage in front of people in a sheer dress?

What is your fondest memory about Rocky?
double bunny trixie.

People who knew me in High School thought I was...
a theatre/choir nerd.

If they were making a movie about my life I would like to see my part played by...
Lauren Ambrose

One thing I think that you should think too.
don't be an asshole.

You can quote me.
