Driving directions to the Wilmette Theatre
Important: There is also a "Central Street" in the Wilmette/Evanston area - this is NOT the same as the "Central AVE." the Wilmette theater is located on - we're a couple miles north of it. If you only look for "Central" or aren't paying attention, you will likely wind up on the larger and more traveled Central Street and end up lost. We recommend you take a map or follow specific directions unless you know exactly where you're going in the Evanston/Wilmette area.
Coming from the north
Take 94 south to "Lake Ave" (exit 34B) and get off going eastbound on Lake Ave. Go about 2 miles until you get to Green Bay Road, then turn right and go south for 2 blocks and turn left on Central Ave. You will see the theater about a block ahead.
Coming from the south
Take 90/94 into the city, and when 90/94 splits, take 94 north to "Lake Ave" (exit 34B) and get off going eastbound on Lake Ave. Go about 2 miles until you get to Green Bay Road, then turn right and go south for 2 blocks and turn left on Central ave. You will see the theater about a block ahead.
If you're local, Ridge Ave to Green Bay road might be an easier route, though we don't recommend it if you don't know where you're going or get lost easily.
Coming from the west
Take 90/94 east into the city. Don't follow the signs directing you to 94 that are on eastbound 90 as they're more for trucks and out of towners and it'll actually take more time. Take 90/90 to the Irving Park exit, DON'T go all the way to Irving Park - at the first light, turn left and go under the bridge and make an immediate left and get back on 90/94 - this entrance will put you right onto 94 north. From there take 94 north to "Lake Ave" (exit 34B) and get off going eastbound on Lake Ave. Go about 2 miles until you get to Green Bay Road, then turn right and go south for 2 blocks and turn left on Central ave. You will see the theater about a block ahead.
Coming from the east
If you're coming from Indiana or further east, follow the "coming from the south directions.
If you are actually east of the theater, you're likely very local or coming in on Sheridan Road. Just turn off of Sheridan Road onto Central Ave and go west a few blocks to the theater.

The Wilmette Theatre Mini FAQ
How much does it cost?
Admission to the Wilmette for Rocky Horror is 8 dollars.
What audience props are allowed in the Theater?
Like the Music Box, we sell our "Virgin Kits" at the theater so you can purchase them there. If you want to know what we'll allow you to bring/use, check out Audience Props page for the details.
Is there a security search?
As it has been with Midnight Madness from day one over 20 years ago, we do a bag/purse check and pat down search for weapons (guns, knives, mace, tazers, etc.), items that can be used as weapons (bats, batons, heavy flashlights, hair spray, electrically charged novelties, etc.) or unauthorized audience participation items (like food that spoils, rice, hot dogs, etc.) and booze/glass bottles. This is for the cast and audience security and safety. Any non illegal items will be taken possession of and returned to you after the show, or you have the option of returning them to your vehicle immediately. Any illegal items you will be asked to dispose of before you're allowed to enter the theater.
As far as other items that are not a danger to the cast/audience safety like drugs and such, we're not cops and don't judge or care what you do with your body as long as you don't do it in the theater. Do note though, our show frequently has law enforcement officials in our audience, so you're totally on your own if you do/have anything that'll get you arrested otherwise.
On that note, undercover or off duty / non uniformed law enforcement officials can refuse a search BUT will be required to show I.D stating such, and we'll take your name and I.D./badge number, inform theater management of your presence, and likely verify it if we suspect anything is off. DO NOT try to falsely pass yourself off as a law enforcement agent in order to bring weapons or unauthorized items into our show. We've been doing this a long time and you're not going to fool us and you'll find yourself talking to the REAL Wilmette police faster than you can say "impersonation of an officer?"
People refusing door search can and likely will be denied admission to the theater and issued a refund. People ejected from the theater due to rules violation or causing trouble after the search point will not be issued a refund.
Where can I park?
At that time of day, there is ample street parking in front of the theater. There is also additional parking located on the lot behind the theater.
What is there to do before the show?
The Wilmette is located in a semi quiet neighborhood with not a lot of nightlife (those of you that remember the neighborhood that The Evanston was in, it's a lot like that). As soon as we figure out what's open and can be done in the neighborhood on the days and nights of our shows, we'll post some stuff here.
Is it B.Y.O.B.?
Actually, the Wilmette has received its liquor licence for our first shows in January 2008. The shows will still be all ages, but if you are over 21 you will have your I.D.s checked and you will be wrist banded to drink. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED as we do not wish to do anything that will jeopardize our show or the theater - we will turn underage drinkers in ourselves. Alcohol consumption will be limited to the lobby area only (no alcohol inside the theater). We do not know what brands/type of alcohol they will be offering at this time. We'll update here as soon as we can with that info.
To note though, this does NOT give you the right to be a drunken idiot at our show. We will still throw you out if you act like a drunken idiot or cause trouble, and we guarantee you will clean it up if you throw it up.
Where can I buy Jolt Cola?
We'll get back to you on this one - again there's not a lot of late night shops and stuff around the theater. We'll see what we can do about maybe getting them to carry it at the theater if we keep going there.
